Terms of Service
Effective date: November 1, 2026
Who we are: Settlement Sidekick is made by Hutcheson Labs LLC. "Sidekick," "we," "us" and "our" mean Hutcheson Labs LLC and the Settlement Sidekick app and website (sidekick.hutchesonlabs.com).
Contact: see Section 18.
1. The short version
- Settlement Sidekick is an AI service. It helps you spot open settlements you may be able to claim and keeps your claim answers organized.
- What you type into Sidekick is yours. You decide what to share, and it's up to you to make sure it's true.
- When you tell us to submit a claim (once that feature is available), we carry your answers to the official claims administrator you picked. We act as a pipe for your information, not as its author.
- Sidekick doesn't run settlements, doesn't practice law, and isn't on either side of any case. The administrator and the court decide who gets paid, how much, and when.
- Every payout amount in the app is an estimated figure drawn from official settlement notices.
By downloading the app, creating a profile, or using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Sidekick.
2. Who can use Sidekick
You must be at least 18 and live in the United States. You may use Sidekick only for yourself. Don't file, or ask us to pass along, a claim for someone else.
3. Your information belongs to you
You own it. Your name, contact details, address, payout preference, answers to claim questions, and the name you type to sign a statement are all "Your Information." It stays yours. We don't claim ownership of any of it.
You are responsible for it. You are the only one who knows whether Your Information is correct. Before you save or send anything, check that it is truthful, complete, current and accurate, and that it is really about you. Sidekick does not check, confirm or vouch for what you enter. If something is wrong, an administrator may reduce, delay or turn down your claim, and false claims can carry legal consequences for the person who makes them.
Only claim what's yours to claim. Use Sidekick only for settlements you honestly believe you qualify for. If a claim form asks you to swear that your answers are true, that sworn statement is yours alone. We will show you the form's own wording and will only pass it along after you read it, tick the box, and type your name.
The permission you give us. So the app can work, you let us store, copy, reformat and transmit Your Information, but only to run Sidekick for you: to show you matching settlements, to keep your answers ready, and to deliver them to the administrators you choose. This permission is limited to those purposes. It ends when you delete your account, except for the small filing record described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell Your Information.
What you must not send. Sidekick is built to refuse government ID numbers and other sensitive identifiers, account numbers, card numbers and passwords. Please don't try to enter them anywhere in the app, including in the Penny chat.
4. Sidekick is a conduit for your information
Think of Sidekick as a courier. The courier doesn't write the letter and doesn't decide what the recipient does with it.
- You pick the claim. Nothing is sent unless you tap OK on that particular claim.
- We carry your answers. When you tell us to submit, we take the answers you saved and place them, as you wrote them, into the claim form of the official administrator for that settlement. We may adjust formatting so a field fits (for example, splitting a full name into first and last), but we don't add facts about you or change what you said.
- Filing for you isn't switched on yet. Today the app shows you each administrator's official link so you can file yourself, and it saves your answers for later. Submitting claims for you is coming soon. Until it's turned on, nothing is sent to any administrator by us.
- Some claims you'll always file yourself. If a form needs an ink signature, a notary, a mailed notice code, or anything else we can't handle, we'll show you the administrator's link and you file directly.
- Changes and cancellations. You can edit or cancel a claim in the app until filing begins. After a claim reaches the administrator, we can't pull it back.
- No agency. Using Sidekick does not create an agency relationship of any kind between you and Sidekick or Hutcheson Labs LLC. We are not your agent for any claim, any settlement or anything else, and nothing in these terms or in the app makes us one. Each claim is yours, made by you to the administrator; the app is a tool that carries the answers you wrote into the form when you tell it to.
5. What Sidekick is not
- We are not a claims administrator. We don't process claims, approve or deny them, or send payments.
- We are not a law firm, and nothing in the app is legal advice. Using Sidekick doesn't make us your lawyer.
- We are not a party to any settlement, and we don't represent the companies being sued, the people suing them, or the court.
- The administrator and the court decide who is eligible, how much each person receives, and when payments go out.
- Questions about a claim you've already filed (its status, a missing payment, a request for more proof) should go to that settlement's administrator. We show their contact details where we have them.
6. Estimated payouts
Every dollar figure in Sidekick is an estimated payout. We work it out from what the official settlement notice, website or court papers say, such as the size of the fund, the per-person amount or caps, and the number of people expected to claim. The real amount is set by the administrator and the court, and it often moves once they know how many valid claims came in. Treat the estimated figure as a rough guide for deciding which claims are worth your time, not as a promise of any amount. Where we can, we show the source and how we got the estimated figure.
7. How Sidekick uses AI
Sidekick uses AI to help find and summarize settlements, work out estimated payouts, and power Penny, the chat helper.
AI-generated content, including settlement summaries and Penny's chat answers, is for general information only. It isn't financial or legal advice. AI can make mistakes. Before you act on it, verify it with the official source: the official settlement notice or the administrator's website.
8. Other people's sites and services
Administrator websites, court pages, settlement notices, app stores and similar services belong to other people. We don't run them and can't control what they say or do. Anything between you and an administrator, or any other outside party, is between you and them, including how they handle your information once they receive it. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
9. Fair use of the app
Please don't: file false or duplicate claims; use the app for someone else; try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer Sidekick; get around its limits or safety checks; or use it for anything illegal. We may pause or close an account that does these things.
10. Price
The app is a free download and the current features are free. Some extras are marked "coming soon." If we ever charge for anything, we'll show the price and terms in the app before you pay, and payment will run through Google Play.
11. Our content
The app's design, text, settlement summaries, estimated payouts, artwork (including Penny) and code belong to Hutcheson Labs LLC. You may use them to use Sidekick for yourself, not to copy or resell them.
12. Service provided as is
We work hard to keep Sidekick useful and up to date, but we provide it as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises, express or implied, that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. That includes the settlement list, deadlines, summaries, matches, estimated payouts and Penny's answers. Settlements change, close and get appealed, so always confirm details on the official notice.
13. Limit on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We aren't responsible for indirect or knock-on losses, such as lost time, a missed deadline, a claim that was denied or paid less than estimated, or a lost opportunity.
- We aren't responsible for what administrators, courts or other outside parties do, or for mistakes in information you gave us.
Some places don't allow some of these limits. Where that's true, they apply only as far as local law permits.
14. Your responsibility to us
If someone brings a claim against Hutcheson Labs LLC because of information you provided, a claim you made through Sidekick, or your breaking these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees, and to cooperate with us.
15. Ending things
You can stop using Sidekick at any time and delete your account from the app's profile page or by contacting us (see Section 18). We may suspend or end accounts that misuse the service. Sections 3, 5, 6 and 11–17 still apply after your account ends.
16. Changes to these Terms
We'll post any update here and change the effective date. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app. Using Sidekick after an update means you accept it.
17. Disputes and governing law
Texas law applies to these Terms and to any dispute about Sidekick. Before filing any formal claim, please contact us (see Section 18) so we can try to sort it out.
